From the day he was old enough to understand,Prince Charles has known he will be a king of England if he lives longer than his mother,Queen Elizabeth.
The people didn't elect him.They didn't choose him because they thought he was smarter or because he bullied them.They really didn't choose him at all.
In countries where a king or a queen rules,the oldest son-or daughter if there are no son-knows he will someday sit on the throne.Even though Prince Charles become king,he won't have as much power as king used to have.The real leader in England is called the Prime Minister.
Most countries don't have king and queen anymore.And not all countries elect their leaders.The leaders of some countries are called dictators.A dictators is very often a bully-a man who wants to be a leader so much that he'll do almost anything-no matter how cruel to get the job.
With the help of hired armies,he makes himself the leader.The people who don't want him for a leader are often forced to leave the country or are put into prison.Sometime a dictator will kill his enemies if they try to stop him.
In countries where leaders are elected by the people,they are usually chosen because the people think they are the best man or women for the job.The most capable of making the big decisions that will have to be made.No matter how big or small it is,nearly every group that sets out to do something has a leader.In America all the people in all the states help choose a president to lead the whole country.And in each state the people choose their own governor.In the cities people elect a mayor or city manager.Even the tiniest village pick a leader.
Among people who still live in tribes,the oldest man in the tribes may be the leader.He has lived the longest and therefore is thought to be the wisest.A ship has a leader-the captain.Air planes and spaceship have leaders.There are leaders in business office and factories and also armies.Just about everywhere.Even animals have leaders.Did you ever see a wild goose flying at the head of a long line? That is the leader.
Leader is needed for everyone,community or groups so he can lead the team to achieve on what need to be achieve and ensure his group are guided and well maintain.
