21-12-2012 It's Not A Day To Die

The 2012 phenomenon comprises a range of eschatological beliefs according to which cataclysmic or transformative events will occur on 21 December 2012.This date is regarded as the end-date of a 5125-year-long cycle in the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar.Various astronomical alignments and numerological formulae have been proposed as pertaining to this date, though none have been accepted by mainstream scholarship.
A New Age interpretation of this transition is that the date marks the start of time in which Earth and its inhabitants may undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation, and that 21 December 2012 may mark the beginning of a new era. Others suggest that the date marks the end of the world or a similar catastrophe. Scenarios suggested for the end of the world include the arrival of the next solar maximum, an interaction between Earth and the black hole at the center of the galaxy,or Earth's collision with a planet called "Nibiru".

Well but now I do understand who really Nebuchadnezzar was.Don't you ?

The Origins Of Everyday Thing - Toilets

Today in rich countries we take toilets for granted yet in poor countries millions of people do not have hygienic toilets. Our word toilet is derived from the French word toilette, which means little cloth. In the 17th century it was a cloth cover for a dressing table, called a toilet table. If a woman was at her toilet it meant she was dressing and preparing her appearance. By the 19th century toilet room or toilet was a euphemism for a certain room. Our word lavatory comes from the Latin lavare meaning to wash.In the 17th century a lavatory was a place for washing.Later it became a euphemism for a certain room.

"That's One Small Step For a Man, One Giant Leap For Mankind."

It is perhaps the most famous phrase ever uttered by a human being, a form of words which instantly summed up the meaning of an extraordinary moment in the history of the human race. "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

But did Neil Armstrong really mean to say those words when he stepped onto the moon and spoke to an estimated 600 million television viewers around the world? Ever since the landing on 20 July 1969, there has been controversy over whether he fluffed his line.Did Armstrong really mean to say "a man" instead of just "man"?

The Hidden Treasure Story

Traders were said to have been coming here as far back as 190 AD for spices, ivory, etc.Since Independence, the temple has been controlled by a trust run by the descendants of the Travancore royal family. After 1947 the kingdom of Travancore merged with the princely state of Cochin, which eventually became the present-day state of Kerala. The members of the Travancore royal family consider themselves to be servants of the presiding deity at the temple, Padmanabhaswamy, which is an aspect of the Hindu God Vishnu in eternal sleep. This is why they historically entrusted their wealth to the temple.

Origami

Since paper degrades as it ages, it is hard to come up with an exact timeline for the invention of origami. It is generally accepted that paper was invented around 105 A.D. in China. The Japanese first used paper during the sixth century. It is true that other cultures engaged in various forms of paper folding, but it was the Japanese who first discovered the possibilities associated with using paper as a medium for art.

Today, the people of the Philippines honor him as their national hero.

Guruvayur Kesavan

Even if you are remotely acquainted with Hindu culture, religion or mythology, the name  "Guruvayur" should strike a familiar chord with you.  A thriving township in Trichur district of Kerala state in the South of India, its scenic beauty and serenity are breath taking. However, today Guruvayur is synonymous with the Sree Krishna or Guruvayurappan Temple located there so that when anybody says he is going to Guruvayur, it is understood that it may be to this famous temple.

Adorned with the holy tulasi (Basil) garland, and pearl necklace the Lord here appears in all radiance - a mere glimpse, and your search for spirituality has found its meaning.Since I will be treveling to kerela next month after my annual Sabari Yatra with the grace of Lord I am able to see the lord Guruvayurappan myself and it's also my plesure to share the story of a devotee by the name of "Guruvayur Kesavan".
