The Maharajas' Express

I had a Chance to board a train while travelling in India but that of cause not a well known train like what we are going to see below. But this is a normal Express 1st class train where I travel from Chenai,Tamil Nadu to Kerela.I had to say that its really fun to travel and especially in group. The best is you got to see the scenery of rural India which is eye catching and beautiful to me.I love to do it again on my next trip that for sure. The train are comfortable and not bad if I had to put in this manner.Of cause I do not want to mention the normal passenger train which you can see a compartment full of people like sardines trap in a can.Went you want to travel do it in a style as I can put it.But India also have an exclusive train and world famous. And this really meant for the riches and elite. So let look at the most expensive and state of the art train of India which they call "The Maharajah's Express" where you can be sure to travel like Rajah on them.

Dancing mania

swastikatree.jpg

Dancing mania is a social phenomenon that occurred primarily in mainland Europe between the 14th and 18th centuries.During an outbreak of dancing mania, groups of strange people, sometimes thousands at a time, would dance uncontrollably and bizarrely. Many strange incidents of dancing mania have been recorded.  During these events, men, women, and children dance through the streets of towns or cities, sometimes foaming at the mouth until they collapse and die from fatigue.  One of the first major outbreaks of the mania occurred in Aachen, Germany, on June 24, 1374.
During the event, the populace danced wildly through the streets, screaming of visions and hallucinations, and even continued to writhe and twist after they were too exhausted to stand.  The phenomenon is well-documented in contemporary writings.  During the initial outbreaks of the mania, religious ceremonies were often held in an attempt to exorcise the demons believed to be causing the dancing.  No real consensus exists as to what caused the
mania.  However, some cases, especially the one in Aachen, may have been caused by ergot poisoning, or ergotism, known in the Middle Ages as "St. Anthony's Fire.”

Dev Anand in the 1970 film Hare Rama Hare Krishna (Picture courtesy of Sidharth Bhatia and Navketan) Dev Anand was not afraid of tackling bold subjects such as the the hippie culture in the 1970 film Hare Rama Hare Krishna
Long before the term Bollywood was coined and Indian films and stars went international, there was Dev Anand. He was the suave, westernised, Anglophile star, the first really cool hero of the Hindi screen. His films were modern in their time and the company he started in 1949 with his elder brother Chetan Anand came to be known for their urban themes.
