The animal kingdom has always surprised us with some pretty formidable creatures but these extinct animals are something out of our worst nightmares. They were larger and more vicious than the scary animals we know today and it might be hard to believe that they actually existed. We might not have the chance to see them today but we should know them, just in case they ever return.

Daughters of Shiva , Ashoka Sundari

Many are wondering since when did Shiva father daughters? Everyone has heard of his famous sons: Ganesha and Kartikeya. But daughters? Ashoka Sundari? Where did she come from?

The whole idea of Shiva Puran is to describe the gradual socialization of Shiva, from hermit to householder. And this means becoming a father and taking responsibility for fatherhood. As a hermit, Shiva is detached and disengaged with the world. But the Goddess is determined to make him participate. In that, she is helped by Vishnu and all the other gods. In Tamil temple lore, Vishnu is her brother and Brahma her father.Together they want this ascetic to establish a home.Only then will his great wisdom and his powers benefit the world at large.

Aravan - The Human Sacrifice in ancent India

Human sacrifice was practised by various cultures at various levels. We have references to sacrifice of human beings in the Vedas and Tamil literature and sculptures. In fact there is no religious book which has not got a reference to it. There is no civilization where it was not practised. Historians only talk about Mayans nowadays. But it was practised on a large scale in the Middle East. We have unusually, disproportionately large number of children graves in Bahrain. It was practised in the early dynasties of Egypt. When the pharaoh died, lot of his servants, officials, queens were buried with him. They were administered with quick acting poison or a tranquilizing drug. They all did in an orderly manner. Bible and Jewish literature refers to it a number of places.

Kavadi Sindhu in Sannasimalai Andavar Temple

I am a Divine Mother devotee or so call "Bagavathi Sevagan" where I had inherited from my family (Mother Side). A very unique Tantrik prayers to God Bagavathi of Kodangulur, rooted from Kerela which stand as the family deity for nine generation.Well some ignorant peoples would like to describe such prayer as a left handed Tantrik practise or sort of black magic. For those peoples, I can only pity them and to say in lay man term " You mother is superior to you and my mother is superior to me so just take care of your own mother and be happy because only fools will try to compare whose mother is superior then others". Learn how to see devotion with open mind, hearth and in a positive manner.

God are one but we see him in many different forms and with different rituals and practise. I observe all the important date in Hindu festival.Thaipusam,Maha Sivaratri,Vaikunda Egadasi and ect.ect. Be it for Lord Shiva,Lord Ganesha,Rama,Krishna and even Maturai veeran.I will not loose anything as I believe all will lead to Divine consciousness if you observe them in a right manner.OK let cut the crap and move to what I really want to talk about.
